Paper Girl Number One
Papergirls mean (positive attitude plus energetic rocking
gorgeous intelligent role models with loving support), but
most of all its young ladies coming together to achieving goals
to acquire paper (money). Papergirls were formed because a team
of girls seemed to be more powerful than individuals in the
industry. While there were many male groups like Dip set, Cash
money, Wu tang, etc. there were no female groups. Females were
getting lost in the industry. Papergirls has been trademarked,
incorporated and found in 2000 by Infinity.
Infinity, born in Brooklyn, English and Nigerian mixed,
grew up in Queens NY danced at Nubert Ballet School continued on
with gymnastics and cheerleading. As she wrote cheers for her
squad the rhymes turned into poems, then raps.
By age 13, Infinity known then as Half Note, recorded songs with
Big Daddy Kane, and won trophies battling and competing at
shows. By the time Infinity graduated High school she went on
studying Music Business Management at St. Johns University and
Five Towns College.
She toured with Wu-tang, releasing her own mix-tape, and
vinyl receiving hundreds of spins on college radio. She landed a
publishing company on ASCAP. Hot 97 of NY played her theme song
for Cirt Flirt, Wendy Williams and Red Alert for that year.
In 1999, Infinity graduated with a Bachelors degree from Monroe
College in the Bronx. After obtaining that experience and
knowledge, most record labels would have rather signed Infinity
as an artist than a staff worker, but like most female rappers
it is hard to individually achieve their goals in the male
dominated industry. Infinity formed a group called "The
Ambassadors". Three female rappers, one Italian, one Philippians
and she was the Nigerian. Infinity’s talent out shined the other
young ladies, but she continued forming a street support team
called "Papergirls".
After performing many shows Infinity started designing her own
clothes to wear on stage. Many people admired the style so she
designed and sold clothes by opening a store on the internet.
This landed her to design clothes for the multi-million dollar
retail company Johnny Girl.
Infinity competed in Blaze Battle on HBO, which she can
be seen on their round 1 DVD in any music store. From 2000 to
2004, She then released approximately 5 of her own mix cd’s that
she distributed and sold thousands of, featuring Trina, Nate
Dogg, Crooked I, Magic Don Juan and other local talent. She has
freestyles on top DJ’s mixcd’s Kay Slay, Shogun, EMS, Ron
G, SynCity, Absolute, Roughandz,
Jay Dell and Rello, Lazy Kay, etc.
She has appearances in ASCAP magazine, ASCAP showcase, modeled
for Johnny Girl Clothing in 3 issues on XXL magazine, performed
many times at The Las Vegas Magic Convention, hosted King
magazine party with Gloria Velez, featured on Comcast TV,
NY’s Hot 97 Street Soldiers with Remmy Martin, launched a
website Prettyinfinity.com and Wearmymusic.com, released two
videos "Papergirls", and "Ooh Wee" on Kids Gotta Eat TV, which
aired for two years, and a underground video "Welcome to the
Streets."
She received great reviews on Grind-mode.com write up for Bout
my paper mix cd. She promoted her mix cds in Puerto Rico Power
Music Summit, she was featured on All Access Dvd Magazine with
Trina, opened up performing for Lil Flip at The Sucker Free Car
Show in Houston Texas, Juvenile at The Wycleff Car Show
in Hempstead New York, which can be seen on What’s really Hood
dvd volume 3 and received heavy spins in Lagos and Imo state
Nigeria for a single she released called "Nigerian
Princess". She also did a Papergirl documentary, which
can be seen on Street Styles DVD magazine volume 1.
Now still on the grind, Infinity recorded songs with multi
platinum producers Kwame, Ty Fyffe, Sha Money XL, Gordy Groove,
Omen, and Blue Note. She is now putting it all together in
Houston Texas working on her album.
While working on her album, Infinity opened a boutique in
Houston, Texas where she sells the clothes she designs, and mix
cd’s of her and local artist.
She wasted no time to perform at local malls, radio shows,
record songs with top producers Blue Note and Joe Tracks for
Kruger’s album on Def Jams, Black Rob’s album on Bad Boy, model
for Houston’s Black & Single magazine dec/jan issue, feature on
Chop TV vol 14 chopped and screwed videos as she ripped the
stage free styling, hosting and performing in Louisiana for rap
